Role Description

The Printer Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area. The Printer Technician will install, configure, and maintain printers and multifunction devices at client locations, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. Daily tasks include diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, performing routine maintenance, and responding to service calls within agreed timelines. The role involves providing technical support and troubleshooting for printer networks and desktop connections, as well as accurately documenting work performed and parts used. The technician will collaborate with the service team, communicate clearly with clients, and follow company procedures to deliver consistent, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Printer Support and Printers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of various printer brands and models.
• Candidates should possess Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
• Candidates should possess working knowledge of Desktop Computers, including basic operating system, network, and driver support related to printing environments.
• Relevant technical certifications or training in electronics, IT, or office automation are beneficial.
• Experience in field service or customer-facing technical roles, with a valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Johannesburg area, is advantageous.
• Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills, along with the ability to work independently and follow safety and quality standards, are preferred.
