Placements24 seeks a Principal Mine Geologist based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, SA, to lead geological modeling, resource estimation, and mine planning. The role demands extensive technical leadership and strategic input across multiple teams.

You will guide junior geologists, ensure data integrity, and drive regulatory compliance (JORC/NI 43-101) while collaborating with mine engineers and metallurgists on major projects. On-site work is required.

Formación

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology or a closely related Earth Science field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine geology, resource estimation, and geological modeling within the mining industry.
• Proven expertise in 3D geological modeling and resource estimation software (Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Datamine).
• Deep knowledge of deposit types, structural geology, and exploration techniques.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geological reviews and audits of mine operations.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Master's degree or PhD in Geology or a closely related Earth Science field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine geology, resource estimation, and geological modeling within the mining industry .
• Proven expertise in 3D geological modeling and resource estimation software (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Datamine).
• In-depth knowledge of various deposit types, structural geology, and exploration techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing technical teams.
• Experience with relevant international reporting codes (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101) is essential.
• Professional Geoscientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) registration is highly desirable.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Queenstown, Eastern Cape .
