Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a prominent international engineering firm with a growing presence in South Africa, is actively recruiting a Lead Electrical Project Engineer for a fully remote position. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of diverse electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise will be vital in managing project lifecycles, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving project success from concept through to completion. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the planning, execution, and closing of multiple electrical engineering projects simultaneously.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, scheduling, and budget management.
• Coordinate effectively with internal engineering teams, external consultants, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless project flow.
• Oversee the technical aspects of electrical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular project review meetings (virtual) and prepare detailed progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong emphasis on project management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex electrical projects in various industries.
• Demonstrated experience in leading project teams, including remote or geographically dispersed teams.
• In-depth understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile).
• Excellent knowledge of electrical systems design, construction, and commissioning processes.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and collaboration tools.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a remote setting.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng.) registration is highly preferred.
