Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Principal CS&A Designer in Whitehaven to deliver civil and structural design packages within a highly regulated environment. You will work on concept to completion across multidisciplinary teams, using AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D to produce technical drawings and deliver design solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in a designer position, relevant civil/structural qualifications, and eligibility for UK security clearance.

Qualifications

• Appropriate qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering, e.g. HND or HNC.
• Security Clearance or eligible to obtain it.
• 5+ years' experience in a Designer role.
• Experience in highly regulated, quality-assured environments where engineering is central.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary designs, brownfield/asset care projects.
• Understanding of design stages from concept to close-out.
• Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes for reinforced concrete, steel and masonry.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Experience in regulated industries (Nuclear, Rail, Bridge Construction, Offshore, Petrochemical).
• Extensive AutoCAD, Revit and/or Civil 3D experience.
• Delivering projects to challenging deadlines with a pragmatic approach.
• Ability to translate requirements into AutoCAD drawings.
• Familiar with engineering processes and Document Management Systems.
• Experience using Revit for steel-framed structures and refurbishments.
• Experience in civil/structural safety design.
• Experience in integrated multi-disciplinary design teams.
• SQEP for SR0754 Designer (desirable).

Join a highly regulated engineering environment where your design expertise will help deliver complex infrastructure solutions from concept through to completion.

Our Client has a requirement for a PrincipalCS&A Designer, who will be required to work on a staff or contract basis in Whitehaven.

Role Purpose:

• Support the Responsible Engineer by producing technical packages for the Analytical Services Portfolio.
• Work as part of a Civil & Structural Engineering team in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering design work packages.
• Contribute to engineering solutions through concept, preliminary and detailed design stages, as well as execution support.
• Report directly to the CS&A Responsible Engineer.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Create Civil & Structural engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to meet project requirements.
• Review project files for compliance with standards and protocols.
• Implement engineering best practices and procedures.
• Support the delivery of high-quality engineering design solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support other Designers within the CS&A Design team where required.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Appropriate qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering, e.g. HND or HNC.
• Ideally hold Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
• 5+ years' experience in a Designer role.
• Experience working within a highly regulated and quality-assured environment where engineering formed a major part of the role.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary design solutions, predominantly on brownfield sites and asset care projects.
• Understanding of project delivery across all design stages, from concept and front-end design through to project close-out.
• Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes for reinforced concrete, steel and masonry.
• Sound working knowledge and experience of relevant legislation.
• Experience operating within highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Rail, Bridge Construction, Offshore or Petrochemical sectors.
• Extensive AutoCAD, Revit and/or Civil 3D experience.
• Experience delivering projects to challenging deadlines with a pragmatic and flexible approach.
• Knowledge of industry-specific standards and the ability to translate requirements into AutoCAD drawings.
• Familiarity with engineering processes and Document Management Systems.
• Experience using Revit for steel-framed structures, building alterations and refurbishment projects.
• Experience in civil/structural safety design.
• Experience working within integrated multi-disciplinary design teams.
• SQEP for SR0754 Designer (desirable).

Additional Information:

• Due to the nature of the work, applicants will need to meet residency requirements for UK Security Clearance.
• Security Clearance is required for this position, and candidates must be sole British nationals.
