Job summary

Curro Holdings Ltd. seeks a Preschool Teacher (full-time) at Rosen Castle Tyger Valley in Cape Town, starting January 2027. Qualifications

• Diploma in ECD or equivalent (minimum NQF level 5).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an ECD teacher.
• Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate a range of subjects per Curro curriculum and ECD guidelines for preschool.
• Plan lessons, manage administration, record-keeping and parent/learner meetings.
• Oversee classroom design, assemblies, and extracurricular activities as required.
• Observe learner behaviour and provide feedback to parents and management.
• Support aftercare, sleep times, meals, hygiene and daily routines.

Curro is seeking to appoint a preschool teacher at Rosen Castle Tyger Valley in Cape Town. The role involves teaching and coordinating a range of subjects as per the Curro curriculum and ECD guidelines for the preschool phase. The teacher is responsible for the active teaching, knowledge transfer, skills development and growth of positive attitudes among learners through integrated and focused teaching approaches.

Key performance areas

• Perform teaching duties, including planning and overseeing activities (inside and outside the classroom), mealtimes, hygiene, break times, sleep time, teaching materials and concerts
• Plan and manage administration, including lesson planning and assessment of outcomes, record-keeping, parent and learner meetings, overseeing student teachers and leading assemblies when required
• Manage the classroom, including classroom design and set-up for optimal performance, disciplinary rules and communication with learners and parents
• Observe and record learner behaviour daily and manage feedback to parents and management as well as problem areas
• Plan and manage extramural activities and aftercare, including homework
