Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a skilled machinist to ensure efficient machine shop operations. You will load, set up and run both programmable and non-programmable equipment, read work orders and drawings, and meet stringent tolerances and quality standards.

You will perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections, complete inspection reports, and identify opportunities for quality and process improvements to drive operational excellence in our workshop.

Responsibilities

• Operate programmable and non-programmable machine shop equipment.
• Perform machine loading, setup and operation.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly equipment inspections and checks.
• Ensure machinery inspection plans are completed.
• Read and follow work orders, engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Work accurately to specified tolerances and quality requirements.
• Perform quality checks and complete inspection reports.
• Identify opportunities for quality and process improvement.
• Ensure operations are completed in a timely, economical and efficient manner.
