Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and coach the pre‑sales team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Set clear goals, monitor performance against KPIs, and provide regular feedback and development opportunities. Ensure the team maintains up‑to‑date expertise in networking and data center technologies, certifications, and industry trends.
  • Strategic Solution Design: Oversee the design of secure, scalable, and cost‑effective architectures tailored to client needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Review and approve high‑level and detailed solution designs, documentation, and architecture diagrams produced by the team.
  • Pre‑Sales Technical Support: Guide the team in supporting the sales cycle through technical discovery, demonstrations, PoCs, and solution presentations. Ensure technical solutions are articulated effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Commercial Proposal Management: Supervise the creation and review of commercial proposals, ensuring accuracy in scope, pricing, and technical alignment. Collaborate with sales, finance, and legal teams to ensure proposals meet business goals and contractual standards.
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as an escalation point for complex technical or commercial issues. Represent the team in key client meetings, providing strategic input and technical leadership.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, implementation, and product teams to ensure solution feasibility and seamless hand‑off. Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Ensure accurate records of designs, configurations, proposals, and customer interactions are maintained in CRM and documentation tools. Report on team performance, solution delivery, and sales support effectiveness to senior management.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Proven leadership experience in pre‑sales or solutions architecture for networking and data centre solutions.
  • In‑depth technical knowledge of networking, data centre, cloud, and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in proposal development and pricing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to align technical solutions with customer business outcomes and budget constraints.
  • Experience with CRM and proposal management tools (e.g., Salesforce, CPQ platforms).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years in solutions architecture, pre‑sales engineering, or technical leadership roles.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Cisco, VMware, AWS, Azure) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and strategic solution delivery.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Team solution delivery success rate (number of solutions designed and implemented).
  • Number of PoCs / POVs conducted by the team per quarter.
  • Win rate for deals supported by technical demos or PoCs.
  • Quality and clarity of team’s solution documentation and architecture diagrams.
  • Sales opportunities supported and contribution to revenue growth.
  • Accuracy and turnaround time of commercial proposals.
  • Proposal win rate.
  • Team certification and skills development progress.
