About the Role

Our client is looking for an expert Power Systems Engineer to join their team in Upington , focusing on the development and management of electrical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and plan power systems, including load forecasting and network expansion studies.
• Develop technical specifications for power equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
• Conduct system studies , including fault analysis, stability analysis, and power quality assessments.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and utility providers.
• Oversee the implementation and commissioning of power system upgrades and new installations.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power systems engineering, design, and analysis.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD).
• In-depth knowledge of protection schemes , fault analysis, and power quality.
• Experience with renewable energy integration and grid interconnection is highly advantageous.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
