Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed power system analysis , including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and protection coordination studies.
• Design and specify components for electrical substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.

• Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments for new power generation projects and grid connections.
• Review and approve electrical designs from external consultants and vendors, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide expert technical support to project teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 8+ years of experience in power system design, analysis, and protection.
• In-depth knowledge of power system software such as PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Experience with renewable energy integration (solar, wind) and grid codes.
• Familiarity with South African electricity regulations and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with strong leadership potential.
