Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on power systems to join our client in Welkom. The role covers design, implementation, and maintenance of reliable power infrastructure for industrial applications within a hybrid on-site and remote work arrangement.

You'll conduct load flow studies, protection schemes, and grid interconnection planning, collaborating across disciplines to deliver projects in the Free State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems specialization.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power system design and analysis.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PowerWorld).
• Strong understanding of power system protection principles and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and implement electrical power systems, including distribution networks, substations, and protection schemes.
• Conduct load flow studies, short circuit analysis, and equipment sizing for power system components.
• Develop specifications for electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of power system equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve power system faults and operational issues.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation related to power system projects.
