Placements24 in Soweto is seeking an innovative Electrical Engineer specializing in power electronics to join the Advanced Technology Division. You will lead the design, simulation, prototyping, and testing of cutting-edge power conversion systems, driving efficiency across product lines.

The role involves lifecycle design from concept to testing, with close collaboration across hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
Minimum 5 years of experience in design and development of power electronic circuits and systems.
Strong understanding of semiconductor devices, magnetic components, and control theory for power converters.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and PSpice for simulations.
Hands-on experience with laboratory testing and measurement equipment.

Responsabilités

Design, develop, and test power electronic converters (DC-DC, DC-AC, AC-DC).
Perform simulations and analysis to optimize performance and thermal management.
Select components (MOSFETs, IGBTs, capacitors, inductors) for power apps.
Develop control algorithms and firmware for power electronics systems.
Collaborate with hardware/software teams to integrate power electronics into larger systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during prototype testing and product development.
