Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Systems.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in design and operation of electrical distribution systems.
• Proficiency in CYME, PSS SINCAL, and PowerFactory.
• Solid understanding of distribution principles, protection schemes, and equipment.
• Experience with network planning and asset management.
• Knowledge of South African electrical regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and develop electrical distribution networks including substations.
• Perform load analysis, system modeling, and forecasting for distribution networks.
• Specify distribution equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protective devices.
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of new distribution infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues within the distribution system.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure network reliability.
• Analyze system performance and recommend upgrades or improvements.
• Liaise with regulators and customers on distribution-related matters.
