Job summary

iOCO is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer/Consultant to design, develop, and maintain BI solutions turning complex data into meaningful insights. You will work with stakeholders, data teams, and technical teams to deliver intuitive dashboards and reports from Johannesburg.

The role focuses on building dashboards, data models, DAX calculations, and data integration across sources, with emphasis on performance and security. This is a 6-month contract based in Johannesburg.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of DAX and Power Query / M.
• Experience with data modelling and dimensional modelling concepts.
• Good SQL skills.
• Experience working with relational databases and multiple data sources.
• Understanding of ETL / data transformation processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience with Power BI Service, workspaces, gateways, publishing, and scheduled refreshes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Gather and translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.
• Build and optimise data models using Power BI and Power Query.
• Develop DAX calculations, measures, and KPIs.
• Connect Power BI to multiple data sources including SQL databases, Excel, APIs, and cloud platforms.

• Optimise Power BI reports and datasets for performance.
• Implement row-level security and appropriate data access controls.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, Developers, and business stakeholders.
• Support deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Power BI solutions.
• Provide documentation and user support where required.

• Experience with SSRS, SSIS, or other Microsoft BI technologies.
