Job summary

iOCO Limited in Cape Town is seeking a Power BI Developer to design and deliver clear dashboards for public-sector clients, with a strong emphasis on UI/UX and data storytelling. You will translate business requirements into insightful visuals and maintain consistent standards across reports.

You will collaborate with data owners and backend teams, optimize performance, and ensure secure, scalable dashboards while communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a contract

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or BI Analyst.
• Strong portfolio showcasing UI/visualisation-focused dashboards.
• Proficient in DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
• Experience working with SQL-based data sources.
• Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Dashboard Design & Visualisation: Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards for operational and executive reporting.
• Apply UI/UX best practices to dashboards for intuitive use by a broad range of stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into meaningful visual insights.
• Maintain visual standards for accuracy, clarity, and usability.
• Optimise dashboards for performance and user adoption.
• Data Modelling & Backend Support: Build and optimise DAX measures, calculated fields, and data models.
• Use Power Query for data shaping and transformation across multiple sources.
• Collaborate with data owners, analysts, and backend teams to ensure high-quality datasets.
• Manage dataset refresh schedules, workspace structure, and permissions in Power BI Service.
