Job summary

Qualifications

• Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification are required.
• Proven work experience within the production/food processing industry is essential.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills are required.
• Poultry knowledge is advantageous for this role.
• Solid understanding of food safety and quality control is necessary.
• Experience with processing equipment and SOP compliance is preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations is mandatory.
• Experience in inventory management and production scheduling is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans to meet sales and distribution requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Lead daily team meetings to align on targets and address operational issues.
• Ensure daily production targets are met and manage deviations promptly.
• Conduct regular quality control checks and address identified issues.
• Oversee inventory levels and manage procurement in line with forecasts.
• Directly supervise production staff, providing coaching and guidance.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and conduct safety audits.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance.
• Track and analyze production metrics and present reports to senior management.
