Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with expertise in polymer processing to join their Bloemfontein manufacturing facility. You will optimize polymer processing, troubleshoot deviations, and drive continuous improvement using data analysis and process control systems.

The role focuses on safety, quality, and environmental standards while collaborating with the QC team to meet product specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science/Engineering.
• 3-5 years of polymer processing experience.
• Knowledge of polymer properties, rheology and processing equipment.
• Experience with process control systems and data analysis.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize polymer processing operations, including extrusion, molding, and compounding.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and implement solutions to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Conduct experiments to evaluate new raw materials, additives, and processing techniques.
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure product specifications are met.
