Job summary

Redheads Engineering Group is seeking a PLC Specialist for an international automotive components manufacturer in Pretoria. You will perform general electrical maintenance, fault finding on robots, and support robotic applications to meet quality standards.

The role requires extensive PLC programming knowledge (Siemens, ABB, KUKA) and hands‑on experience with industrial automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and maintenance projects. On‑site position in Gauteng with strong problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain robots to ensure customer and company quality standards are met
• Fault finding and preventative maintenance as per maintenance schedule according to job cards and relevant works instruction
• Compile feedback on time sheets and ensure accurate repair data
• Ensure company procedures, works instruction and quality systems are always adhered to
• Participate actively in the departmental problem solving as per company requirements
• Ensure that works practices comply with the company SHEQ procedures and works instructions.

Job description

One of our clients, an international manufacturer of automotive components, has an opening for a PLC Specialist.

Primary purpose of the job:

Perform general electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance as well as fault finding maintenance on industrial robots, projects and robotic applications standards

Key Performance Areas:

• Repair and maintain robots to ensure customer and company quality standards are met
• Fault finding and preventative maintenance as per maintenance schedule according to job cards and relevant works instruction

• KRC 4; TIA portal, Integra Wave 4; PLC programming, Siemens S5 & S7,
• Festo S7, Festo and ABB Stamp master
• 3 years as Technician in the electrical field, especially in automation (pneumatics, hydraulics, maintenance/robotics/projects)
