Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join a warm Stellenbosch centre. You will foster learning through play-based exploration, supporting cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

Responsibilities include developing a rich play-based curriculum, observing progress, maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom, and partnering with families. Diploma or B.Ed in ECE preferred, with experience in play-based methods.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing play-based learning methodologies.
• Strong understanding of child development principles for preschool-aged children.
• Excellent facilitation, observation, and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a rich, play-based curriculum aligned with early learning frameworks.
• Facilitate stimulating indoor and outdoor play experiences that promote discovery and problem-solving.
• Observe children's engagement and development, documenting learning stories and progress.
• Establish a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Prepare and maintain the learning environment, ensuring it is stimulating and well-resourced.
