Job summary

Oxyon People Solutions in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee day-to-day production on the plastics manufacturing line. You will ensure production targets, quality standards and safety procedures are followed while coordinating with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams.

The ideal candidate has Grade 12, 2–3 years plastics experience, and proven supervisory skills. You must be able to work shifts, lead a team, solve problems and communicate effectively under

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric – Essential.
• 2–3 years' experience in a plastics manufacturing environment – Essential.
• Previous supervisory or production leadership experience.
• Must be willing to work shifts.
• Supervisory or Production Management qualification will be advantageous.
• Plastics manufacturing/process training will be advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise production employees during the shift.
• Ensure planned production targets are achieved.
• Monitor production output, machine performance and downtime.
• Control scrap, rejects and material wastage.
• Ensure products meet required quality standards and specifications.
• Ensure production procedures and work instructions are followed.
• Complete and review shift production reports.
• Conduct proper shift handovers and communicate outstanding issues.
• Identify and resolve production problems or elevate where necessary.
• Report machine and maintenance requirements.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, conduct and productivity.
• Ensure health, safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams.
