Job summary

Communicate Recruitment is seeking a skilled maintenance technician in Cape Town to service plastic injection moulding equipment and related production machinery. The role focuses on fault-finding, preventative and corrective maintenance, and helping install and commission new gear.

You will perform inspections, identify wear, and contribute to improvements in equipment reliability, while keeping meticulous maintenance records and upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Matric Trade Tested Fitter qualification.
• South African resident or valid work permit.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance.
• 5+ years with plastic injection moulding machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on plastic injection moulding machines.
• Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors.
• Assist with machinery installations and commissioning.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify wear and maintenance needs.
• Support continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
