Communicate Recruitment is seeking a skilled maintenance technician in Cape Town to service plastic injection moulding equipment and related production machinery. The role focuses on fault-finding, preventative and corrective maintenance, and helping install and commission new gear.

You will perform inspections, identify wear, and contribute to improvements in equipment reliability, while keeping meticulous maintenance records and upholding safety standards.

Competenze

• Matric Trade Tested Fitter qualification.
• South African resident or valid work permit.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance.
• 5+ years with plastic injection moulding machinery.

Mansioni

Job Description

• Perform mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on plastic injection moulding machines and associated production equipment
• Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and implement effective solutions to minimise production downtime
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and other industrial equipment
• Assist with machinery installations, equipment modifications, and commissioning
• Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, potential failures, and maintenance requirements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and performance
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards
• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and housekeeping standards

Skills & Experience

• 610 years experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial manufacturing environment
• Minimum 5 years experience working with plastic injection moulding machinery
• Strong mechanical fault-finding, repair, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with preventative maintenance and industrial production equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Own reliable transport
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
