Job summary

Dante Personnel seeks an experienced Plant/Industrial Manager for a manufacturing site in South Africa. A Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years leading multidisciplinary teams in food manufacturing/FMCG are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as Plant/Industrial/Operations Manager within manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong experience across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Projects and EHS.
• Experience managing operational budgets, CAPEX, cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Knowledge of SAP/ERP and manufacturing systems with advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 and regulatory compliance.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experienceas a Plant Manager, Industrial Manager, or Operations Manager within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams, preferably within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong experience across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Projects, and EHS.
• Proven experience managing operational budgets, CAPEX projects, cost-saving initiatives, and continuous improvement programmes.
• Strong knowledge of SAP/ERP and manufacturing systems, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, including OEE, yield, downtime, productivity, and production losses.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing budgets, inventory, working capital, production planning, and supply chain performance.
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, environmental compliance, sustainability, and risk management.
• Experience with employee relations, performance management, coaching, talent development, and working with unionswill be advantageous.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to work effectively under pressure and drive operational excellence.
