Raubex is seeking a dynamic Plant Manager for the Cliffdale asphalt plant in KwaZulu-Natal. The role requires relocation if needed and leadership to drive production performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will oversee operations, ensure safety, cost control, and excellent service while developing the team and maintaining quality. The candidate should have a degree or diploma in construction management or civil engineering and SACPCMP registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree or diploma in construction management or civil engineering.
• Professional certification in contracts management is recommended.
• Registration with SACPCMP is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily operations of the commercial Asphalt Plant to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and monitor strategies for safe, cost-effective operations.
• Drive production of high-quality asphalt to meet capacity and demand.

• Lead and develop plant personnel, including performance management and training.

National Asphalt is a leading supplier of asphalt in Southern Africa, renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability. We manufacture a comprehensive range of asphalt products and operate both commercial and mobile asphalt plants across the country.

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Plant Manager to join our team at Cliffdale. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate if required and possess the leadership capability to drive operational performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Purpose of the Role

The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the asphalt plant. The successful incumbent will lead all plant activities to achieve production targets while maintaining the highest standards of cost control, employee safety, employee relations, product quality, and customer service.

What Qualifications You Should Have:

• Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Professional certification in Contracts Management (recommended)
• Registration as a candidate with SACPCMP (advantageous)

What Experience You Need:

• Minimum of 5-7 years' proven experience in a similar role within the Construction and Civil Engineering industry, with a strong focus on asphalt projects
• Demonstrated experience in plant operations and production management
• Relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of a concrete batching plant may also be considered suitable for this position.
• Strong communication skills with high attention to detail
• Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
• South African citizenship

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Working knowledge of Civil and Construction Regulations
• Industrial Relations experience (staff management, discipline handling, etc.)

Key Responsibilities (Not Limited To)

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the commercial Asphalt Plant to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
• Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to promote efficient, safe, and cost-effective operational practices.
• Drive the production of high-quality asphalt products in line with capacity targets and customer demand requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and legislative requirements, as well as company standards and policies.
• Lead, supervise, and develop plant personnel, including performance management, training, and employee relations.
• Maintain strong internal and external customer relationships, ensuring high levels of service delivery and responsiveness.
• Demonstrate effective self-management, accountability, and foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the plant
