Job summary

Raubex is seeking a qualified Site Engineer (Civil) to join our team. The successful candidate will be based in Cape Town or Port Elizabeth and will work on projects across the Eastern, Western and Northern Cape, reporting to the Site Agent.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, 3–5 years' road construction experience, strong communication and analytical skills, and a willingness to travel. You will supervise subcontractors and manage site activities to meet time, cost and quality

Qualifications

• Minimum civil engineering degree required (B.Eng/BSC/N.Dip).
• 3–5 years' road construction site experience.
• Proficient in MS Office and CCS Candy.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly measurements for payment certificates.
• Monitor progress against the contract programme.
• Monitor production outputs and initiate corrective action.
• Supervise and inspect subcontractors' work on site.
• Ensure timely ordering and delivery of plant, labour and materials.
• Coordinate with foremen on production and cost requirements.
• Ensure adherence to contract documents and specifications.
• Support Site Agent with day-to-day project management.

INTRODUCTION

Roadmac Surfacing Cape (Pty) Ltd is looking for a qualified, motivated and experienced Site Engineer (Civil) to join our team. The successful candidate will be based in Cape Town or Port Elizabeth and work in the Eastern, Western and Northern Cape, depending on project requirements. He/she will report to the Site Agent.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• B. Eng/BSC/N.Dip in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 3- 5 years’ work experience as an Engineer on road construction projects.
• Computer Literate, proficient in MS Office and CCS Candy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple activities simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel.

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Assist in the compilation of monthly measurements for the payment certificates.
• Monitor work progress against the contract programme.
• Monitor production outputs and allowable targets, initiating corrective action where required.
• Supervise and inspect sub-contractors' work on site.
• Ensure that plant, labour and materials are ordered and delivered on time and within the allowable.
• Liaise with Foremen regarding production and cost requirements.
• Ensure thorough application of the contract documents and specifications.
• Ensure adherence to group policies and procedures.
• Manage and monitor quality control on site.
• Ensure appropriate safekeeping and distribution of related records.
• Ensure adherence to all Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation and site rules.
• Support the Site Agent with day-to-day project management activities.
• Assist in achieving project objectives within the required time, cost, and quality parameters.
