Job summary

Alstom is seeking a Planning Specialist in Gauteng to manage the Master Production Schedule, analyze bottlenecks, and optimize resources across sites. You will collaborate with teams in Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Procurement to ensure on-time delivery and product quality.

The role requires 5+ years in supply chain planning, advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills, and SAP experience. It involves day/night shifts and potential travel, with a focus on continuous improvement and cross-functional

Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Operations, or related field (NQF 7).
  • Minimum of 5 years in Supply Chain with at least 3 years in planning.
  • Hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end industrial planning processes and their impact on procurement and manufacturing.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP).
  • Agile, responsible and inclusive mindset.
  • Fluent in English with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work day and night shifts as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to production plans and address root causes of delays.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Project Planning, Finance and HR.
  • Update industrial planning tools and prepare communication packs for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to planning instances and monthly reporting.

Could you be the full-time Planning Specialist in Boksburg we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your supply chain and industrial operations expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You’ll play a key role in managing the balance between demand and resources to ensure customer satisfaction in terms of quality, cost, and delivery, while optimizing site resources like people, machines, and cash. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Project Planning, Finance, and Human Resources), contribute to planning instances and monthly reporting, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of building and updating the Master Production Schedule and analyzing bottlenecks, but also ensuring adherence to production plans and addressing root causes of delays.

We’ll look to you for:

Applying Industrial Planning Golden Rules and EHS standards in workshops

Consolidating and analyzing demand forecasts

Collaborating with Materials Planners to ensure accurate master data maintenance

Building industrial planning for opportunities and analyzing site capacity

Monitoring production plan adherence and proposing recovery scenarios

Updating industrial planning tools and preparing communication packs for stakeholders
