Could you be the full‑time Site APSYS Leader in Boksburg we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in lean principles and continuous improvement to a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside passionate, collaborative, and results‑driven teammates.

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving the Alstom Performance System (APSYS) roadmap at the site level, ensuring operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including Quality & Continuous Improvement members, site management teams, and the APSYS Deployment Director), facilitate improvement actions, and provide on‑field expertise in lean methodologies, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of coordinating APSYS deployment strategies and assessments, but also contribute to global training programs and share best practices within the APSYS network.

We’ll look to you for:
  • Collaborating with the Operations Manager to align strategic transformation initiatives with site SQCD objectives and the APSYS roadmap.
  • Training and coaching site teams on APSYS methodologies and tools to build a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Providing on‑field expertise to support APSYS deployment across all departments.
  • Facilitating and coordinating improvement actions to achieve APSYS targets using the APSYS toolbox.
  • Consolidating and reporting deployment status to the Operations Manager and APSYS Central team.
  • Preparing and consolidating self‑assessments and APSYS assessment weeks.
  • Participating in APSYS events, contributing to global training programs, and sharing best practices across the APSYS network.
All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical/engineering field.
  • 5 years of experience in the automotive or rail industry as an industrial engineer.
  • Expertise in lean principles such as 5S, Standard Work, Gemba, VSM, problem‑solving, and a performance and kaizen mindset.
  • Experience coaching top management and project teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in cross‑functional and multicultural teams.
  • Data‑driven approach with a focus on achieving results.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and engage with a global network.
Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life‑long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long‑term career free from monotonous daily routines.
  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and supportive colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative and impactful projects.
  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment.
  • Steer your career in whichever direction you choose across functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award‑winning learning programs.
  • Progress towards leadership roles within APSYS or other areas of Alstom.
  • Enjoy a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).
