Job summary

Stefanutti Stocks Group in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Construction Planner with 5+ years in scheduling, specifically using P6 Primavera and CCS. The role focuses on developing and maintaining project programmes for complex construction, including MEP and data centre scopes.

You will assist with tender analysis, pricing preliminaries, and prepare method statements where required. Collaboration with Contract Managers and site teams to monitor schedules and manage extension of time

Qualifications

• Experienced in construction scheduling with emphasis on MEP and data centre projects.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience using Primavera P6 or CCS or equivalent planning software.
• Ability to formulate logical sequences and critical paths for complex contracts.

Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documents and compile a resource-based programme.
• Create and manage project schedules.
• Assist with preliminaries pricing based on programme requirements.
• Prepare method statements when required.
• Support contract managers and site teams with detailed construction programmes and information schedules.
• Monitor and update contract programmes regularly.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyse the tender documents & compile a resource based tender programme.
• Must be able to create and manage project schedules
• Assist with the pricing of the Preliminaries based on the programme requirements.
• Compile a method statement when required to do so.
• Assist Contract Managers and site teams in compiling the detailed construction programmes and information required schedules.
• Assist site team in regularly monitoring & updating the contract programmes.
• Assist Contract Managers and site teams with compiling the cause-and-effect programme to justify the extension of time claims.

Minimum Requirements

• Experienced in construction and projects scheduling – MEP and Data Centre scheduling will be to the applicant advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience with P6 Primavera, CCS and/or equal software for a planner.

Experience

• Hands on experience on the procedures required to construct the most common scope items on the project.
• Experience in formulating a logical chain of events or activities with relationships to produce a workable and achievable contractual deliverable.
• Experience on how to demonstrate time entitlement within the parameters of various contract types.
• Knowledge of the principles used to calculate and estimate the durations and interfaces of the activities required to produce the scope of work for the project.
• Knowledge of the measurement of “Earned Value” and the development of quantifiable activities in a schedule.
• Experience in MS Office applications such as Excel, Access, Word etc.
• Construction Planner should have extensive knowledge and experience of JBCC contract interpretations with regards to “Extension of Time Claims” and the methodologies for analysing and demonstrating impacts in the schedule and how to demonstrate it in the approved software.
