About the Role

Our client, a prominent construction and development group renowned for delivering large-scale, complex projects, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Planner to enhance their team in Randburg, Gauteng . This role is vital for the strategic planning and scheduling of major construction initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders, and proactively identifying and mitigating potential scheduling risks. The ideal candidate will possess advanced planning skills, a deep understanding of construction methodologies, and proficiency in industry-standard planning software. This hybrid position allows for strategic planning and collaboration from a comfortable remote setting, combined with essential on-site presence for coordination and oversight within the vibrant Gauteng area.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed master project schedules using advanced planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to define project scope, phases, and deliverables for planning purposes.
• Analyze project requirements and develop logical sequencing of construction activities.
• Identify critical path activities and potential scheduling risks, developing mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, reporting on variances and forecasting completion dates.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
