Job summary

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 7 years of open cast mining experience.
• Processing plant and mine planning experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Knowledge of opencast mining and engineering works.
• Ability to pass medical/fitness tests.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Integrity, reliable and ethical.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

• Overseeing daily Pit operations for enhanced efficiency and productivity
• Implementing, reinforcing and ensuring compliance to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment
• Collaborating with various departments to coordinate activities and resolve operational challenges
• Implementing best practices to improve overall pit performance
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
• Ensure that procedures and COPs are strictly adhered to
• Technical supervision

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12
• 7 years open cast experience
• Processing plant and mine planning experience will be advantageous
• Computer literacy MS Office
