Job summary

Bridge Personnel Concepts is seeking a highly experienced Senior Pit Foreman to oversee production activities within their opencast chrome mining operation in Rustenburg, North West Province. The successful candidate will manage daily activities, ensuring safety and efficiency in lining with mine plans.

Applicants must have significant experience in opencast mining and proven leadership capabilities, along with a valid driver’s licence. This is a critical role that focuses on supervising pit supervisors and achieving production targets.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years’ experience in opencast mining (chrome preferred).
• 3-5 years in a Foreman or Senior Supervisory role.
• Experience managing Pit Supervisors.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily opencast production activities.
• Provide leadership to Pit Supervisors.
• Monitor productivity and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Conduct inspections and risk assessments.
• Liaise with planning, engineering, and maintenance teams.
• Compile production reports and drive improvements.

A reputable opencast chrome mining operation in the North West Province is seeking a highly experienced Senior Pit Foreman to oversee and manage production activities within the pit. The successful candidate will take accountability for supervising Pit Supervisors and ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily opencast production activities in line with the mine plan.
• Provide leadership to Pit Supervisors and ensure production targets are achieved.
• Monitor productivity, equipment performance, and material movement.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Liaise with Mine Planning, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
• Compile production reports and drive operational improvements.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Blasting Certificate or relevant Mining Qualification (advantageous)
• 8–10 years’ experience in opencast mining (chrome preferred)
• 3–5 years in a Foreman or Senior Supervisory role
• Experience managing Pit Supervisors
• Valid driver’s licence
