Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• BPharm – 4 year degree.
• Computer literate – MS Office.
• Advantageous: Work during degree – holiday work; Unisolve and E-Scripting.
• Registered with Pharmacy Council – South Africa or valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Pharmacist intern may provide or perform all the services or acts pertaining to the scope of practice of a pharmacist’s assistant (post-basic) under direct supervision.
• Read, interpret prescriptions, select, prepare and label medicines following SOPs.
• Assist with compounding/preparation of medicines; stock control and stock takes.
• Provide patient instructions and information to promote health.
• Assist with claims processing and interaction with medical aids.
• Ensure accuracy of prescriptions and sign off with a pharmacist.
