Placements24 seeks a meticulous Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst for our pharma client in Centurion, Gauteng. You will perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure quality and regulatory compliance in a regulated environment.

The role requires a Bachelors in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences and at least 3 years of hands-on QC testing experience, with expertise in HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry.

• 3+ years of hands-on QC testing experience in pharma.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates and finished products using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR.
• Prepare reagents, samples and standards; document testing activities.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment for optimal performance.
• Document results in lab notebooks and LIMS with accuracy.
• Investigate OOS/OOT results and participate in root cause analysis.
• Review and verify data generated by colleagues for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in validation and transfer of new analytical methods.
• Adhere to GMP/GLP and maintain a safe working environment.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst to join their dedicated team in Centurion, Gauteng. This role is critical in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of our pharmaceutical products by conducting rigorous analytical testing. The analyst will perform a variety of tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards and internal quality systems. Key Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products using various laboratory techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR).
• Prepare reagents, samples, and standards for testing, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
• Document all testing activities, results, and observations meticulously in laboratory notebooks and LIMS.
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results and participate in root cause analysis.
• Review and verify test data generated by other analysts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in the validation and transfer of new analytical methods.
• Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical quality control testing.
• Strong knowledge of analytical techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), spectroscopy, and wet chemistry.
• Familiarity with pharmacopoeial methods (e.g., USP, EP, BP) and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP, ICH).
• Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and analytical software.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Good understanding of laboratory safety procedures.
