Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Pharmaceutical Microbiologist for its Quality Control team in Soweto, Gauteng. You will perform microbiological testing on materials and products, ensure GMP/GLP compliance, and maintain meticulous records.

Ideal candidates hold a BSc in microbiology or related life sciences with 3+ years of pharma microbiology experience and familiarity with pharmacopoeial standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related life sciences.
• Minimum 3 years in pharmaceutical microbiology or industrial microbiology.
• Hands-on aseptic techniques and microbiological testing methods.
• Knowledge of GMP/GLP and pharmacopoeial standards (USP/BP/EP).
• Experience with environmental monitoring and microbial identification.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process and finished products.
• Conduct identification, enumeration, sterility testing per pharmacopoeial methods; maintain records.
• Ensure GMP/GLP compliance and maintain laboratory logs and data integrity.
• Prepare media, reagents, and culture stocks; operate lab equipment.
• Investigate OOS and OOT results and participate in method validation.
