About the Role
Our client, a prominent pharmaceutical entity based in Rustenburg , is actively seeking a creative and skilled Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist . This role is pivotal in the research and development of innovative drug delivery systems and novel pharmaceutical formulations. You will be at the forefront of creating stable, effective, and patient-friendly drug products that meet evolving healthcare needs. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables, topical preparations) for various therapeutic areas.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including API characterization, solubility enhancement, and excipient compatibility assessments.
- Perform stability studies on drug products to determine shelf-life and storage conditions in accordance with ICH guidelines.
- Utilize various laboratory techniques and equipment for formulation development, such as granulation, encapsulation, tablet compression, and sterile filtration.
- Collaborate with analytical development teams to establish appropriate testing methods for new formulations.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation for regulatory submissions, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 4 years) in pharmaceutical formulation development, with a strong understanding of drug delivery principles.
- Proficiency in various dosage form development techniques and associated equipment.
- Familiarity with GMP principles and regulatory requirements for drug product development and registration.
- Experience with analytical techniques relevant to formulation characterization (e.g., dissolution testing, particle size analysis).
- Strong scientific curiosity, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective teamwork skills essential for working in Rustenburg.
