Placements24 is seeking a Process Development Engineer for our Mossel Bay, Western Cape-based client in the biopharmaceutical sector. The role focuses on optimizing and scaling manufacturing processes while ensuring product quality and robust process controls.

The ideal candidate has a chemical/process engineering background with 4+ years in pharma manufacturing, and strong data-driven problem-solving abilities for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in process development or manufacturing in pharma/biopharma.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products.
• Conduct process validation studies and author related documentation.
• Implement and monitor process control strategies for quality and yield.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, and Manufacturing for tech transfer and implementation.
• Develop SOPs and train manufacturing personnel.
• Evaluate new process technologies and equipment to enhance capabilities.
• Analyze process data to identify improvements and cost reductions.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
