Placements24 is seeking a skilled Petroleum Geologist to join its exploration and development team in Gauteng. The role focuses on detailed geological analysis to identify hydrocarbon prospects, regional and basin analysis, and contributing to subsurface understanding of exploration acreage.

You will work with geophysicists and reservoir engineers in a collaborative office environment with hybrid work options, applying advanced technical methods and staying current with new exploration

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology with a focus on petroleum geology.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in petroleum exploration and geoscience.
• Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Experience with seismic interpretation and basin analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological studies of sedimentary basins and prospect identification.
