You will lead process improvements and scale-up activities, ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards, and prepare technical reports, P&IDs and manuals while contributing to ongoing projects in the Western Cape's industrial sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in petrochemical.
• Proficiency with process simulation software and process design tools.
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and process safety management.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new process flows and equipment specifications for petrochemical plants.
• Optimize existing processes to improve yield, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste.
• Conduct process simulations using software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to enhance process reliability and safety.
• Ensure processes comply with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, P&IDs, and operational manuals.
