Job summary

Cashbuild is seeking a Perpetual Inventory Controller (External Applications Only - Blue Downs) to perform physical cycle stock counts and verify stock on hand against the system. You will investigate variances, report discrepancies and support stock reconciliations in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities include counting daily, reporting variances and irregularities to management, handling PIC adjustments, and maintaining filing and admin for stock control.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 plus 1 year related experience or 2 years related experience
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available
• Must be literate
• Must have strong numeric skills
• Must be accurate and able to work under pressure
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perpetual inventory counts performed daily according to the PIC Count Cycle
• Investigate variances whether positive or negative and report results to the Store Manager
• Investigate and rectify negative stock quantities daily, after approval from the Store Manager
• Identify and report on damaged stock to the Store Manager
• Conduct Mini Stock-takes as instructed by Management
• Assist with Wall-to-Wall Stock-take preparations and report areas of concern
• Normal PIC counts during full Stock-take
• Report variances for the day to Store Manager/Divisional Manager as required
• Report irregularities to Store Management/Divisional Manager as required
• Report irregularities to DM if no action is taken by Store Manager
• Report on incorrect/poor quality pricing, SKU’s and damaged stock
• Report on poor merchandising on racking and bulk area
• Report on bulk stock area if special attention is required
• Ensure all PIC documents are completed, signed off by you, approved by Store Manager and filed daily
• Adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond my Control as per the CB Way
• Adhere to the Cashbuild Dress code and display name badge, assist with customer complaints
• Follow safety (OHSA) requirements and report discrepancies to Store Manager

Key Performance Area:

Perpetual Inventory Counts

PIC Adjustments

• Ensure all adjustments are actioned, verified for accuracy and signed off by Management.
• Ensure the “End of Day Report", is validated to yesterday’s PIC Adjustment Sheet, and filed.
• Report on any adjustments not done on the day of the count cycle prior to end of trading day.

Filing and Administration

• Ensure all PIC documents are completed, signed off by you, approved by the Store Manager and filed daily.

Customer Service

• Adhere to the Cashbuild Dress code at all times,
• Name badge to be displayed and visible to the Customer
• Immediately assist with Customer complaints
