Job summary

Rory Mackie & Associates is assisting a global asset manager in Cape Town to recruit a Performance Analyst. The role focuses on investment performance calculation, reporting and analysis for portfolio managers, front and middle office teams, and clients.

You will handle performance attribution, support GIPS compliance, and develop new reports while engaging with stakeholders across the organisation. A tertiary finance-related degree and relevant CFA/CIPM credentials are advantageous.

Qualifications

An appropriate tertiary education in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or similar.
CFA Charterholder, CFA Candidate or CIPM (advantageous)
3 to 5 years’ experience as a Performance Analyst (advantageous)

Responsibilities

Understand the asset management business and performance measurement methodologies.
Perform attribution (equity, multi-asset, fixed income) and related analytics.
Explain performance calculations to internal/external clients clearly.
Create new performance reports and analyses.
Implement performance-fee methodologies and quantitative modelling.
Interpret client mandates regarding benchmarks and fees.
Maintain compliance with GIPS standards and governance controls.
Prepare survey submission templates for consultants.
Document processes and review documents regularly.
Experience with performance and risk software platforms (e.g., StatPro Revolution).
Experience with Morningstar is an advantage.
Present predefined reports to front-office teams.
