Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will assess, diagnose, and treat infants, children and adolescents with communication and swallowing disorders, collaborating with families and educators to implement individualized therapy plans.

The role requires HPCSA registration, a minimum of 3 years of pediatric experience, and a passion for evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Therapy.
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Speech-Language Therapist.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with pediatric populations.
• Strong knowledge of child development and pediatric milestones.
• Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessments for pediatric clients.
• Diagnose communication and swallowing disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide direct speech-language therapy services using evidence-based interventions.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals.
• Develop strategies to improve articulation, phonology, language comprehension and expression.
• Address feeding and swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) through specialized assessments and therapy.
• Educate families on strategies to support development at home.
• Maintain accurate patient records and progress reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
• Stay current with advancements and best practices in pediatric speech-language pathology.
• Advocate for communication and swallowing needs of children in Tembisa.
