Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a maternity cover contract in Cape Town. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for a large employee base, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and statutory compliance.

The role requires collaboration with HR and Finance to maintain timely payroll cycles and accurate data management. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of experience, strong knowledge of PAYE/UIF/SDL/BCEA, and proficiency with Sage 300 People.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years’ payroll administration experience in a high-volume environment.
• Proven end-to-end payroll processing experience including onboarding, changes, and terminations.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL, BCEA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate monthly payroll reports to employees and line managers on time.
• Respond to payroll queries professionally and timorously, escalate delays when required.
• Advise employees on payroll policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and sites to ensure seamless payroll processing and timekeeping.
• Capture and reconcile payroll data to minimize financial risk.
• Process new hires, changes, terminations, final pay, and leave encashment.
• Submit statutory and compliance documents including UIF and maternity documentation.
• Process payroll elements: earnings, deductions, company contributions, fringe benefits, and leaves.
• File salary inputs monthly and prepare audit-ready records.
• Compile payroll reports for submission to payroll team leader.
• Support process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and sharing lessons learned.
