Job summary

Echo Coldrooms, a diversified group with manufacturing and agricultural operations including a large-scale egg farm, seeks an experienced Payroll Clerk to manage payroll across the group. You will work with the HR Manager and Finance Team to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting.

Requirements include Grade 12, 2–3 years of payroll experience, SAGE VIP Payroll and ERS Bio time & attendance expertise, strong Excel skills, and fluency in Afrikaans and English.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) required; payroll/HR qualification advantageous.
• 2–3 years' payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
• SAGE VIP Payroll experience essential.
• ERS Bio time & attendance experience essential.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
• Knowledge of payroll processing, overtime, leave, deductions and allowances.
• Farm/agricultural or production environment experience advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
• Must be reliable, professional and maintain confidentiality.
• Valid Code 8 driver's license and reliable transport.
• Must reside in Pretoria East or surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll.
• Capture and verify employee payroll information.
• Investigate and resolve attendance and payroll discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
• Handle employee payroll queries.
• Liaise with farm management regarding attendance, overtime and leave.
• Work closely with the HR Manager and Finance Team on payroll and reporting.
