Job summary

SA Metal group has a vacancy for a Cashier to join the Payments team at the Gauteng Head Office. The successful candidate will assist the Payments Department by multi-tasking in a demanding workload and highly pressurized environment.

The successful candidate will report to the Payments Manager. Key duties include making payments to suppliers, managing large cash receipts and payments, counting and reconciling cash daily, preparing deposits, and handling EFT proofs and customer invoices.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum
• 2 years relevant cashier/payments experience
• Computer literate – MS Office, internet and e-mail
• Ability to process payments quickly and accurately
• Knowledge of bulk cash counting machines would be beneficial
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask
• Performing complex mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Make payment to suppliers of scrap accurately and efficiently
• Managing large cash receipts and payments accurately
• Count and reconcile cash daily
• Prepare deposits
• Effective and efficient time management
• Filing of cash office documents
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks such as checking EFT Proofs of payments and customer invoices
