Job summary

SA Metal Group invites applications for a Cashier to join the Payments team at the Gauteng Head Office. The successful candidate will assist the Payments Department by multi-tasking in a demanding workload and a highly pressurized environment.

The role reports to the Payments Manager. Key duties include processing supplier payments, managing cash receipts and deposits, reconciling cash, and supporting ad-hoc tasks like EFT verifications and invoice checks.

Qualifications

• A minimum Grade 12 certificate.
• 2 years relevant experience.
• Computer literate – MS Office, internet and e-mail.
• Ability to process payments quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of bulk cash counting machines would be beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask.
• Performing complex mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Make payment to suppliers of scrap accurately and efficiently.
• Managing large cash receipts and payments accurately.
• Count and reconcile cash daily.
• Prepare deposits.
• Effective and efficient time management.
• Filing of cash office documents.
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks such as checking of EFT Proof of payments and customer invoices.
