Job summary

Scania South Africa is seeking a Parts Advisor to service workshop personnel and customers by efficiently fulfilling part requests and maintaining storeroom standards. You will coordinate with the workshop to ensure parts availability and integrity of stock while upholding safety and cleanliness in the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Basic high school education is required.
• Technical experience or qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role Summary

The Parts Advisor is responsible for meeting all part requests from workshop personnel and customers in a timely and efficient manner. They are also responsible for the upkeep of the storeroom.

Job Responsibilities

• Pick and deliver correct parts to customers and Workshop on time.
• If necessary, pack the parts and arrange for delivery or pick up.
• Complete relevant documentation accurately, including invoices, payment and other official papers.
• Build and develop customer relationships through the provision of excellent customer service, ensuring customer needs are being met.
• Work together with the Workshop to ensure parts availability and ensure packaging, service exchange and warranty parts procedures are adhered to.
• Receive and inspect all packages delivered, resolving any discrepancies.
• Monitor stock, spare parts and inventory, organising stock take as required.
• Load and unload parts, bin to appropriate location. Receive and inspect goods, checking transport documents and incoming goods against the order. SRS: Partake in continuous improvement work.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, ensuring the warehouse and common areas are kept clean and are in order.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Build and develop customer relationships through the provision of excellent customer service, ensuring customer needs are being met.
• In relation to Parts, work within the delegated authorities for ordering, invoicing and crediting.
• Organise the return of cores packaging material, warranty and bought back goods.
• When requested carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities not specifically mentioned in the job description during the course and scope of employment.
