Job summary

Rosebank College seeks a lecturer to facilitate teaching and learning, implement strategies to improve outcomes, and promote research and innovation.

You will monitor LMS engagement, support student success, and mark assignments to provide quality feedback. Online lecturing and module consultations are part of the role, with strong MS Office skills expected.

Qualifications

• Honours or higher in a relevant field (Data Analytics/Data Science/CS/IS).
• 2–3 years of lecturing or formal tutoring experience.
• Online teaching experience at a tertiary level is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate teaching and learning processes and implement strategies to meet delivery outcomes.
• Monitor engagement on the Learner Management System (LMS) and support students.
• Ensure timely feedback through marking and assessments.
• Coordinate programme meetings and contribute to content improvements.
• Provide subject/module consultations and academic guidance.

Job Purpose:

The role of the incumbent is to facilitate all aspects of the teaching and learning process. The role includes the implementation of the teaching and learning strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning and meet delivery outcomes and to promote and encourage research and innovation in teaching and learning.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for Teaching and Learning Delivery in respect of:

• Monitoring and evaluating engagement on the Learner Management System.
• Students’ success rates at modular level.
• Continuous student support and development.
• Online Teaching and learning.
• Programme Coordination Committee meetings.
• Contributes to programme improvements (content and assessments).
• Subject/module consultations.
• Marking on time in order to provide students with quality feedback.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

• Minimum:Honours degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems
• Alternatively: Master's or PhD in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science .

Experience

• 2–3 years' lecturing or formal tutoring experience
• Online lecturing experience at a Tertiary level is advantageous
