Job summary

Rosebank International in Pretoria invites applications for a teaching role in accounting. The incumbent will deliver high-quality instruction, implement effective teaching strategies, and promote research and innovation in teaching and learning.

The position involves online and on-site delivery, LMS engagement monitoring, module consultations, and timely feedback to support student success. Honours or higher in Accounting with 2–3 years of lecturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Honours or higher degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2–3 years lecturing or tutoring experience.
• Experience with online lecturing at tertiary level is advantageous.
• Professional accounting designation (CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA/SAIPA) advantageous where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and learning; implement strategies to improve outcomes.
• Monitor LMS engagement and support student success.
• Coordinate programme meetings and contribute to content/assessments.
• Provide timely feedback on student work.
• Consult on subjects/modules and drive improvements.
• Support online teaching and assessments.
• Present and communicate clearly to students and staff.

Job Purpose:

The role of the incumbent is to facilitate all aspects of the teaching and learning process. The role includes the implementation of the teaching and learning strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning and meet delivery outcomes and to promote and encourage research and innovation in teaching and learning.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for Teaching and Learning Delivery in respect of:

• Monitoring and evaluating engagement on the Learner Management System.
• Students’ success rates at modular level.
• Continuous student support and development.
• Online Teaching and learning.
• Programme Coordination Committee meetings.
• Contributes to programme improvements (content and assessments).
• Subject/module consultations.
• Marking on time in order to provide students with quality feedback.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

• Minimum:Honours degree in Accounting, Accounting Sciences or a relevant cognate field.
• Alternatively:Master's or PhD in Accounting, Accounting Sciences or a relevant cognate field.

Experience

• 2–3 years' lecturing or formal tutoring experience
• Online lecturing experience at a Tertiary level is advantageous
• Professional accounting designation such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or SAIPA will be advantageous where relevant to the module.
