Job summary

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Accounting or a relevant cognate field is required.
• Alternatively, a Master's or PhD in Accounting or a cognate field.
• 2–3 years lecturing or formal tutoring experience required.
• Online lecturing experience at tertiary level is advantageous.
• Professional accounting designation (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or SAIPA) is advantageous where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and learning for accounting modules.
• Monitor engagement on the learner management system.
• Support student success and provide quality feedback.
• Coordinate program meetings and contribute to content and assessments.
• Consult with students on modules and provide timely marking.

Job Purpose:

The role of the incumbent is to facilitate all aspects of the teaching and learning process. The role includes the implementation of the teaching and learning strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning and meet delivery outcomes and to promote and encourage research and innovation in teaching and learning.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for Teaching and Learning Delivery in respect of:

• Monitoring and evaluating engagement on the Learner Management System.
• Students’ success rates at modular level.
• Continuous student support and development.
• Online Teaching and learning.
• Programme Coordination Committee meetings.
• Contributes to programme improvements (content and assessments).
• Subject/module consultations.
• Marking on time in order to provide students with quality feedback.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alternatively:Master's or PhD in Accounting, Accounting Sciences or a relevant cognate field.

Experience

• 2–3 years' lecturing or formal tutoring experience

• Professional accounting designation such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or SAIPA will be advantageous where relevant to the module.
