Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Community Engagement Facilitator for a part-time role in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will design and deliver programs that actively involve residents, encourage participation, and strengthen local networks.

The ideal candidate has a qualification in Community Development or Social Work, strong facilitation and communication skills, and a passion for empowering local communities.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or extensive experience in Community Development, Social Work, Facilitation, or a related field.
• Proven experience in facilitating group discussions and community engagement activities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
• Ability to connect with and build trust among diverse community groups.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to encourage dialogue and participation.
• Engage with diverse community groups to understand their needs, concerns, and aspirations.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase community involvement in local projects and initiatives.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, residents, and local organizations.
• Document community feedback and insights to inform program development and improvements.
• Support the recruitment and coordination of community volunteers.
• Communicate project updates and information effectively to community members.
• Assist in the promotion of our client's programs and services within the target communities.
• Work collaboratively with the project team to achieve community engagement objectives.
• Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in all engagement activities.
