Job summary

P&L is seeking a Panel Saw Operator in Gauteng to ensure customer estimations are cut to required timelines and specifications, while maintaining machine safety and reducing losses. The role requires adherence to OHSA standards and a readiness to work shifts and weekends.

Experience in carpentry and with cutting/edging machinery is advantageous; successful candidates will perform precise calculations and support packing and stock organization in the workspace.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
• 2 years carpentry experience would be advantageous
• 1 year experience working with cutting and edging machinery would be advantageous
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.
• Work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise Customers correctly on product.
• Assist Customer with queries and complaints timely.
• Ensure area is free of obstacles and stock is merchandised after receipt.
• Complete daily safety and cleanliness checks (OHSA compliance).
• Prevent loss by ensuring documentation before loading products for customers.
• Minimise wastage and interpret cutting lists accurately.
• Perform daily cleaning and preventive maintenance on machinery.
